Hi all,
Time to dodge between ice patches and rain drops and make your way to the Game
Dev Meetup next week!
When? Thursday the 10th of July
Where? The Bridge Street Collective, 111 Bridge St
What to bring? A $5 koha to go towards pizza.
So...what's on this month?
David Brydon of Kiwi AR, creator of 'Heart of Nelson', will talk to us about...
Why AR needs VR to succeed first?
On the face of it Augmented Reality (AR) is here, but not quite. Several key
issues are holding AR back from becoming ‘main stream’ and taking us into the
future we imagine.
Many of these issues are being solved through the development of Virtual
Reality (VR) hardware and by supporting VR we are not only allowing people to
enter the virtual world but getting closer to allowing the virtual world to
join us here in the ‘real’ world.
I will be discussing where AR is currently and where it needs to get to for
mass adoption. I will also be discussing Innovate Ltd & Kiwi AR's previous AR
projects and sharing what we have planned in the near future.
Hoping to see you all there!
cheers,
Edwin
